One main fact about Guam is that natives like to hold parties and festivals for all kinds of occasions. Guam law states that every citizen is invited to all parties, but if you are a guest to the country and somehow find yourself attending one, be sure to take a dish to share. All parties are potlucks.

Pros and cons of having a green roof
The advantages of having a green roof are both environmental and economical. On one hand, they can reduce your heating bill by up to 40% because they act as a natural air conditioner by increasing the insulation levels in your roof. They also keep homes cooler during hot seasons because of evaporative cooling. On another hand, they reduce stormwater run-off and filter pollutants out of rainwater. They also use recycled materials and use natural resources. It also reduces noise pollution in your home. Sounds from planes, machinery, cars, etc., are either reflected, deflected or absorbed. On top of this, they are more sustainable, lasting for up to 75 years if maintained well.
The disadvantages of having a green roof is the price (some can cost as much as $4000 to install) and the high maintenance. Done correctly, you won’t have to worry too much about maintaining the greenery but you will have to occasionally check and make sure everything is as it should be. Additionally, the roots can penetrate the waterproofing membrane, risking collapse.
